Biography

John Powell Wight was a miner in Ballarat when he enlisted on 17th September 1914. He was 27 and unmarried. He was drafted to the 14th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 278. On the 8th August 1915 he was killed in action at Gallipoli. His name is on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
