Biography

Clifford Falla was born in Castlemaine and was a Blacksmith living in Ballarat when he enlisted in the 21st Battalion, 6th Reinforcement on 12 July 1915 at the age of 19. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board RMS Moldavia on 5 October 1915. . In February 1916 he was transferred to the Camel Corps, then later to the 1st Anzac Battalion, Imperial Camel Brigade. He remained in Egypt being based at Abbassia, Serapeum and Ismailia. In July 1918 he was transferred to the 14th Light Horse Regiment with whom he served out the remaining months of the war. He returned home on the Margha and disembarked at Melbourne on March 4th 1919.
