Biography

Mary Elonie Rodger was born in Ballarat, was single and a nurse when she enlisted in the Australian Army Nursing Service on 22 August 1916 at the age of 25. She disembarked at Alexandria on 4 August 1917 and served as Staff Nurse. On 10 May 1918 the Medical Board determined she was unfit for general or home service for a period of four months due to anaemia. She was invalided to Australia aboard the Kanowna on 22 July 1918.
