Biography

Septimus Clive Fishwick (SN 190) as born in Ballarat and enlisted on March 5th 1915, when he was 18 years old, single and a turner. He was posted to the 24th Infantry Battalion and left Australia in May aboard the Euripides and reached Gallipoli in August. After Gallipoli he moved to France where he suffered shrapnel or bullet wounds on three separate occasions and also gas poisoning during 1916 and 1917. On September 1st 1918 he was killed in action at Mont St. Quentin, and is buried in the Peronne Communal Cemetery, France. He was 21 years of age.

His brothers Richard, Jack and Ivo also served in the AIF and are honoured with a tree in the Avenue.
